How do you make breadsticks in a Pizza Oven? And do you have a Recipe for them? We have an actual pizza oven in our garage and cant figure out how to make breadsticks in it........... Can you help?

sky replied: "I've never seen a pizza oven, but I assume you can adjust the temprature, so it should be like any other oven, or maybe you can check the breadsticks every few minutes to see if they are ready or not. Here is a recipe I found for you, there are 25 more recipes on the page, check it if you like. Good luck... ----->Paula's Bread Sticks Submitted by: Paula Strafuss Rated: 4 out of 5 by 47 members Prep Time: 15 Minutes Cook Time: 15 Minutes Ready In: 3 Hours 30 Minutes Yields: 18 servings "I make these bread sticks by the hundreds every year and my kids take them to school for snacks. The dough can be made in the bread machine, or you can double it and make it in a stand mixer." INGREDIENTS: 1 1/3 cups warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C) 3 tablespoons butter, softened 4 cups bread flour 2 teaspoons salt 1/4 cup white sugar 1/4 cup sesame seeds 2 tablespoons dry milk powder 2 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast DIRECTIONS: 1. Place ingredients in the pan of the bread machine in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Select Dough cycle; press Start. Spray two baking sheets with cooking spray. 2. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). When dough cycle is complete, remove dough to a lightly oiled surface. Divide dough up into 18 pieces. Roll each piece on an oiled board, from center of piece to the outside edges to form bread sticks. Place bread sticks at least 1 inch apart on the prepared pans. 3. Bake in preheated oven for 10 to 15 minutes, until golden. Remove to a wire rack to cool."

Can you bake a cake in a pizza oven? I am at someone's house where they do not have a regular oven, just a pizza oven. I want to make a birthday cake... Can I use the pizza oven? Thanks for the replies. Could I use a microwave? I read something about that online... It doesn't seem like that would work though.

Happy Cooker replied: "If it's deep enough and hits the right temperature I don't see why not."

Chetak. replied: "You could if the temperature of the oven goes up to the temperature your cake will need."

Jaws67 replied: "I would think not. The temperature of a pizza oven is much higher than what you need to bake cake. 425 vs 350 It will not rise before it starts to burn."

Baking a potato in a pizza oven? I want to try making a baked potato in my enclosed pizza oven but I lost the instructions for it so I'm not sure if it is possible or if it will come out tasting decent. I like the taste of baked potatoes made in the oven but its so much faster to use a microwave. Thats why I was hoping the pizza oven would speed up the process. Has anyone experimented with this?

Jeffery H K replied: "burnt on the outside, raw on the inside"

Heather replied: "why don't you just use a microwave? it won't come out right in the pizza oven."

masterdcreator replied: "ummm let me go research"

Miesplz replied: "A pizza oven like you might find in a bar does not have enough room to cook a potato."

sol vanzi replied: "Cut the potatoes in half if they do not fit the height of the oven. Season before baking."

jack g replied: "The baking temp. is what is important here--------400 degrees is 400 degrees-------- rub the potato with a little olive or other oil, prick the skin with a fork a few times and bake and enjoy. Chef Jack Garrison"

How do you convert a wood burning pizza oven to a gas burner pizza oven? This is for a 3 pizza size oven in our family restaurant.

i love k replied: "I am not sure that it cn be done.It could be dangerous ....."

Electrical Inspector replied: "You don't; unless you can get some instructions from the manufacturer that will show how to do this, and maintain the oven's listing. No listing means there is no way to prove the oven is safe; no proof of safety, no occupancy permit, no insurance. The cost of a "Field Evaluation" by one of the OSHA Approved NRTLs (Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories) is probably 1/3 to 1/2 the cost of a new oven; it hardly seems worth it, even assuming it can be done for that type of oven. Some tests can only be done in a lab. Could be a BIG problem."

What is the biggest difference between a "horno" and a wood burning Pizza Oven? A primitive wood burning Pizza oven? They are both basically the same, aren't they? Is it firebricks or what? The vents? I'm doing research on outdoor wood burning ovens; I don't have either at this point.

freesumpin replied: "Not much difference for regular baking. They both can be made out of similar materials. A wood burning oven can be drier - hornos were also be used by native Americans as steam ovens to cook corn in a way the wood burners could not. ."

bell.fish replied: "Horno is a mud adobe built outdoor oven used by Native Americans and early settlers of North America. It was used to cook corn and bread. The procedure still used in parts of New Mexico and Arizona is to build a fire inside the Horno and when the proper amount of time has passed, remove the embers and ashes and insert the bread to be cooked. After the right amount of time the cooked loaf of bread can be removed. In the case of corn the embers are doused with water and the corn is then inserted into the horno to be "steam" cooked. Horno is the normal Spanish word for "oven" or "furnace", and derives from the Latin furnus. where as the ultimate gourmet appliance for both the indoor kitchen and outdoor patio is the wood burning pizza oven. Discover a multitude of baking, barbeque and roasting dishes that you can create. Learn the simple age old techniques and methods of cooking in a traditional wood burning oven."

Jessica M-S replied: "make sure when pronounicing "horno", u dont pronoune the h. Its silent in spanish."

geminaurus replied: ""Horno" sounds dirty LOL ;-)"

Charface replied: "A commercial pizza oven can cost $15,000-40,000 depending on the size and if you get them stacked."

Marie replied: "Your sitting on some HOT commodities, man. I worked for 20 + yrs. with pizza parlors off & on. Y'all need to do your research & sell, sell, sell. How long should I put this in my pizza oven? We have a pizza oven and we normally put normal sized pizzas in it, but my dad bought mini pizzas called mama rosas pepperoni pizza single pizza pack. the pizza is 7 inches by 7 inches and my pizza oven has 120 volts, 1450 watts, and 12 amps. If you need more info post a comment saying it needs more info. ASAP...... cause I am hungry! Ihay Tobama...... WHAT!??!?!

Ihay Tobama replied: "Put it in until it sets on fire."

Daniel D replied: "8-12 minutes"

jamiG replied: "I'd say about 10 minutes...but keep an eye on it."

Andrew G replied: "Just let it brown a LITTLE. that's if you like it like that. On the other hand just try to cook it as much as you can, you'll know when it's ready. Check constantly until it is to your liking. You can never cook it too little, but you can always cook it too much. Just don't let it burn. I'd say 10-15 minutes and then after that check every minute or so."

Sorence H replied: "What you should do is check on it every three or 4 minutes. I work at a pizza parlor and I cook pizza a lot for my family. I know it may be tedious work but don't worry it will pay off!"

dmncpham replied: "I think you should just microwave them for about 1 or 2 minutes because it's small but you can microwave it a little longer if it's too cold. Tip:Microwave it untill you think it is warm enough for you."
